Japan Tourism Awards:Winner of the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Award

2025 9th Japan Tourism Awards

Winner of the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Award (formerly the Grand Prize)

We are overjoyed to announce that our Sake Brewery Hotel® KURABITO STAY initiative has received the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Award (formerly the Grand Prize), the top award at the Japan Tourism Awards.

This award is the highest honor in the Japanese tourism industry, as can be seen from the list of past recipients – all truly outstanding projects that are nationally recognized. It is a momentous event that Sake Brewery Hotel® KURABITO STAY, born in the non-tourist area of Saku, has been able to join that elite group.

We could not have achieved this result without the cooperation of Kitsukura Sake Brewery, the other breweries of the Saku area, and members of the local community. Therefore, this award is not just for us; it is for the Saku region and all of our customers who have supported us to date. Approximately 800 people from Japan and over 30 countries around the world have participated in the Sake Brewer Experience, and the moving testimonials of each and every one of them have helped lead us to this point. To them we wish to express our heartfelt gratitude.

Our mission is “to protect the heritage of our hometown and pass on a place we can be proud of even a hundred years from now.” With this in mind, we will continue to promote the charms of the Saku region and the potential of tourism in Japan’s less-explored regions both domestically and internationally through the unique cultural experience of our “Sake Brewer Experience,” thereby ushering in a new era of sake tourism that can contribute to regional revitalization.
